Now I know meatballs don’t seem like the healthiest option in the world but there is a way to make them healthier.

I made this recipe with all Aldi products, yes, I am Aldi obsessed.

Ingredients:

Pack of 400g Beef Balls

Aldi Cucina Durham Wholewheat Spaghetti

Sweet Harvest Chopped Tomatoes

Aldi Curina Tomato Puree

3 Garlic Cloves (Finely Chopped)

Pinch of Salt, Pepper, and Thyme.

1 tsp of Rapeseed oil

Parsley

Directions:

Place Beef Balls on a baking tray covered in greaseproof paper. Baking the meatballs will reduce the fat a bit compared to frying.

Put them in the oven at 190 degrees. Cook for around 10 minutes (until brown) take them out, turn them, put them back in the oven. Keep a close eye on them so they don’t burn.

For the sauce, add a tsp of rapeseed oil into a saucepan, when hot, add chopped garlic and cook for 2 minutes. Add in your tin of chopped tomatoes and a tablespoon of tomato puree. Throw in a pinch of salt, pepper and thyme. Cook for 10 minutes.

In another saucepan, place your pasta into cold water and boil until soft.

Once your beef balls are cooked, add them into your sauce, and cook for another 8 minutes.

Once everything is ready, serve up and add parsley to garnish.
