Instagram Body Trends

I don’t know about you but I am sick to death of all these body trends. Last month rib cage bragging was the big trend and this month it’s hip dips or violin hips.

According to all these celebrity and Instagram trends, we’re meant to be curvy but have a rib cage like Bella and Gigi Hadid (pictured below)3F5A1B0A00000578-0-image-a-13_1494275813159gigihadid

and need a thigh brow like the Kardashians and Jenners:

BUT you also need a thigh gap!

Don’t forget you need a big butt as well!

and now we have to have hip dips

I am all for body positivity but can we stop with these trends. I am glad I am not a teenage girl growing up with all these trends. Am I meant to have thick thighs? Am I meant to have a thigh gap? My butt needs to be bigger! My hips need to have dips but I need to have my ribcage showing too.

Fucking hell.

Your body does not have to look like what the latest trend says you need to look like. If you have a thigh gap, that’s fine and if you don’t, that’s fine too. If your ribs don’t show, who cares, mine don’t show. Big arse or small arse, who cares. I have a big arse, I alway have. Most days I wish mine was smaller so I could actually get my jeans on without having to fight with them to get over my thighs for about 5 minutes. I don’t have hip dips, if you don’t either that’s fine and if you do that’s fine too.

We all need to stop looking at celebrities and Instagram models for body trends. You don’t need a hashtag trend to embrace and love your body.
