Review: Lush Sleepy

Review: Lush Sleepy

I bought myself Lush’s Sleepy after my dad read a news article about it saying that insomniacs swear by it. I’m not an insomniac but I do have extreme difficulty trying to get to sleep thanks to my anxiety. If I haven’t had more than a few hours sleep in several days I would normally take a Rivotril, which is a benzodiazepine that my doctor prescribed for me. I hate taking them though as I feel extremely groggy and exhausted the next day.

So I went onto the Lush website and ordered myself a tub of the Sleepy body lotion, to be honest I was extremely skeptical about a cream helping me sleep but I’m always willing to try out new things.

Sleepy Body Lotion

I thought I was going to be turned off by the smell because I actually don’t like lavender, I find it too overpowering but this lotion has just the perfect amount. In fact, I actually love the smell so much, I was half wondering if I could eat it. It smells that good. Don’t worry, I didn’t!

I did what the instructions said, rubbed it all over my body, put on my pjs and climbed into bed. I watched an episode of American Dad as usual, turned off the TV, pressed my head against the pillow and the next thing I knew it was the morning. I had actually slept a whole night for the first time in months!

I can’t say it’s made me had a full nights sleep every night I used it but it has made me fall asleep with ease. No tossing and turning for hours in the hope of drifting off. I usually fall asleep within an hour of putting it on.

For me it is perfect, I can fall asleep, whether if it’s for a full night or for 3-4 hours but I don’t feel I need to reach for the Rivotril to help me sleep anymore.

I give Lush’s Sleepy 5/5

You can order it HERE
